Rushville 5-Way with Batesville, Greensburg, Connersville and Centerville

Edited report from Batesville coach Curtis Miller- Batesville went 2-2 in duals at Rushville moving their season record to 4-5. The Bulldogs started the day with a 54-21 loss to Centerville then lost to Greensburg 46-33. Batesville bounced back with a win against Connersville 36-24 and followed that success with a 39-15 victory against Rushville.

Leading the Bulldogs on the day were juniors Josh Mobley and Chase Hamilton winning weight classes 145 and 195 respectfully with 4-0 records. Mobley picked up 3 pins while Hamilton had 2 pins. Recording 3 wins were freshman Tacoma Nicholas at 120 with 1 pin, junior Alex Murphy at 126 with 1 pin, junior Tyler Schaeffer at 132 with 2 pins and freshman Mason Neely at 138. Junior Jy’lil Chappel went 2-2 with 1 pin at 170. Junior Brandon Manning also had a win at 220.

South Dearborn at Plainfield Invitational

Edited report from South Dearborn’s Lisa Otto- The Knights wrestled 5 dual matches at Plainfield. Seniors Dylan McGill and Eli Otto led their team going undefeated at 5-0. McGill dominated the 182 weight class defeating all opponents by fall. Otto, who is currently ranked 15th in the state at 145 on Indiana Mat, added 5 more wins to his undefeated season. Eli’s most notable win was defeating his 10th ranked Plainfield opponent. Senior Blake Bartly also had a winning day going 4-1 at 160 with 2 wins by fall. Junior Alex Kemper, AKA Big Kemp, also had a winning record of 4-1 in the heavyweight division, logging 3 wins by fall and one by 4-2 decision. Junior Sean Sohmer wrestled great matches also coming home 3-2 with all three of his wins by fall.
