Wrestling Hotlist for Saturday, January 11

Hotlists are top individual performances or notable achievements of the REPORTING team for the sport and event date shown.  A final event result is also provided.  Details per athlete will vary based on what is reported/available.  Should more than one team report for the same event, each team will have its own hotlist entry as they are listed by school.  The hotlist may be updated occasionally up to 72 hours after the event date, so please check back.  We thank everyone who contributed to this hotlist.

Rushville Varsity- Rushville was 2-2 at the Zionsville 8-Way beating Frankfort 38-34 and Zionsville B 46-33 but following to Noblesville 40-29 and Mt. Vernon (Posey) 51-15.  Leading the Lions were: (4 wins) Lowell Joya and Nick Lawler; (3 wins) Matthew Bertram and Marcus Malson; (2 wins) Braiden Hunter, Adam Bousman, Garrett Bergen and Devin Richardson.  Of special note, senior Lowell Joya earned his 100th career win in his final match of the day.

Batesville Varsity (Fri/Sat)- Batesville finished 5-4 at Centerville with wins over Union County 48-36, Cambridge City 41-36, Winchester 42-30, Northeastern 57-17 and Tri 51-18.  Losses were to New Castle 39-33, Franklin County 55-24, Monroe Central 45-36 and Centerville 58-13.  The Bulldogs were led by: champions Alex Murphy (113 lbs…9-0, 2 pins) and Jy’lil Chappel (182…8-1, 6 pins); JT Linkel (145…8-1, 7 pins), Josh Mobley (152…8 wins, 5 pins), Christian Garcia (195…6 wins, 2 pins), Caleb Bischoff-Niese (120…5 wins, 2 pins), Axel Garcia (170…5 wins, 1 pin), Tyler Schaeffer (132…4 wins, 4 pins).  Of special note, JT Linkel earned his 100th career pin.
