Rising Sun 3, Shawe 0 (ORVC match)

RS  25  25  25
SM 19  17  23

Rising Sun ties Milan and Southwestern for the ORVC championship with a 5-1 record.  For the Shiners, it is their first title since 2013.  This is the first time ever the volleyball title has been split three ways.

Shawe coach Tim Torrance: We hosted Rising Sun in our final home match of the season. It was probably one of the most consistent nights of volleyball we had all season even though we dropped the decision in straight sets. I’m hoping this effort continues for the rest of the season.

We had better floor movement from our back row players and our coverage was much better. We didn’t block very well even though we had a lot of touches, we couldn’t finish the block to score the point.

Serving was excellent at 90% for the team led by Phoebe Grote at 16-16 with an ace. Emmaline Leatherman was 13-14 Lina Leatherman had 7 blocks and 3 kills while Grace McAllister had 5 kills.

Rising Sun information will be added when received.

We thank coach Torrance for the match information.
