Rushville coach Nan Scanlan:  It was Pink Night as the Connersville Lady Spartans came to town to take on the Lady Lions.  Between the JV and varsity matches, the seniors honored a person close to them who has fought the fight with cancer.

The night though belonged to Kelly Munchel, a former Lady Lion, and the Munchel Family as Rushville used this night to raise money to help in Kelly’s fight against cancer.  There was a silent auction with themed baskets filled with coffee, games, pet supplies, spa items, etc.  The Lady Lions also sold shirts, cancer bracelets and collected donations.  The team, parents, friends and fans raised over $2000 for the Munchel Family.

I cannot thank my everyone enough for what they did.  The themed baskets were just amazing.  The money raised was more than I could have imagined.  I am so blessed to be a part of such an incredible team.

I thought both teams fought hard to get the wins.  The Lady Lions’ varsity had 46 total kills.
