Rushville coach Nan Scanlan: The Lady Lions won the Rushville Invitational bringing their record to 7-4.  In the first match, Rushville beat Oldenburg 27-29, 25-20 and 16-14. The Twisters gave the Lady Lions everything they had but the Lady Lions were able to persevere.

Up next for Rushville was Centerville who had beaten the Lady Lions last year to win the Invitational. Rushville came out strong and beat Centerville 25-15 and 25-10.

In true form, the last match of the day against Connersville was for the championship, winner take all. The Lady Spartans came out strong in the first set but the Lady Lions came back to beat Connersville 18-25, 25-14 and 15-11.

WOW!  It has been such a roller coaster week. For the girls to come back and put three solid matches together after getting beat by South Dearborn in five sets Thursday, it put this coach in tears.  I am so proud of how they fought hard and bounced back after getting beat in the first sets against Oldenburg and Connersville. They wanted this so bad in so many ways.  Just winning the invitational has been a dream of theirs.  And these three wins put us at seven which surpasses last year’s total wins. It validates they are doing the right things and changing this program.
