Franklin County Senior Profile- Sydney Graf

With the cancellation of the spring sports season, 12th grade spring sports athletes will not get to have their Senior Night.  We wanted to give those athletes a chance to share their Senior Night profiles typically read at such events.  While this can never replace Senior Night itself, at least we can help celebrate our local seniors by sharing their information with you.

Any spring sports senior who would like to have their Senior Night profile shared, please email it to and we will publish it under their spring sport.

Sydney Graf- Franklin County Girls Track

Parents- Shawnda Begley and Casey Graf

Sports and activities at FCHS- Track, Spanish Club, Bleacher Bums, Student Council, Principal’s Advisory Council and FCA.

Post graduation plans– Attending Church on Fire Leadership College for an exploratory year, then pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, and then a Master’s Degree to become a family nurse practitioner.

Favorite track memory- Many athletes would say their favorite moments were moments when they were competing. But because of the relationship everyone on the track team has, my favorite moments the past three years have been cheering on my teammates and watching everyone improve, reach goals and win.

What will be missed most from the season being cancelled- Like I said, we are all very close. So I will probably miss the bus rides and memories with my team more than anything else.

Thank yous- I would like to thank my friends and family for always supporting me and my teammates for always pushing me and themselves to be better.  I also want to thank my coaches.  I would especially like to thank coach Davidson for the dedication and heart he pours into this sport and his athletes.  He loves his team and you can see his “proud track parent” face every time his athletes cross the finish line.

A message from FCHS track coach Joe Davidson- Sydney is the type of athlete you had to kick off the track after practice. She was always wanting to do more.  It didn’t matter if we were indoor or outdoor, she was always trying to do more and more.  Sydney has creative ideas to bring the team together and, especially this year, would help me get stuff together for practice and team meetings.  I was very much looking forward to her leadership this year.  Her faith in God and love for track would have created a lot of opportunities for her to shine.
