Franklin County Senior Profile- Ashlan Hill

With the cancellation of the spring sports season, 12th grade spring sports athletes will not get to have their Senior Night.  We wanted to give those athletes a chance to share their Senior Night profiles typically read at such events.  While this can never replace Senior Night itself, at least we can help celebrate our local seniors by sharing their information with you.

Any spring sports senior who would like to have their Senior Night profile shared, please email it to bryce@seilocalsports.com and we will publish it under their spring sport.

Favorite track memory- I have so many, but my favorite has to be from my freshman year when I found out  I qualified for state for the first time and everything that came with it. The excitement from my coaches, family, teammates and community is something that really stood out to me. From the escort and parade through town to exploring Bloomington to hanging out in the hotel to competing on the IU track, these memories are something I will always keep with me.

What will be missed most from the season being cancelled- Kicking butt and breaking records with my amazing 4×4 team. The 4×4 has become one of my favorite events to compete in because the energy and relationship my relay team has created together is unexplainably the best thing ever.

Thank yous- I just want thank my coaches, Joe Davidson and Garrett Rauch, who have done so much to help me succeed on the track these past four years. And my amazing athletic trainer, Leah Rauch, has gone above and beyond by giving me much needed advice, support and laughs during my time at FC.

A message from FCHS track coach Joe Davidson- Ashlan has been the model student-athlete.  I don’t mean that to be a cliché. I mean if you asked any coach to describe their perfect student-athlete, here’s what they’d want: an elite athlete, a very hard worker obsessed with the sport, team leader, All-Academic and a GREAT PERSON.  This describes Ashlan perfectly.  We had some unfinished this year, so I hate her season was taken from her.  I truly believe she was going to be the first athlete in FC history to qualify for state in three events.
