Rushville Senior Profile- Austen Gerrian

With the cancellation of the spring sports season, 12th grade spring sports athletes will not get to have their Senior Night.  We wanted to give those athletes a chance to share their Senior Night profiles typically read at such events.  While this can never replace Senior Night itself, at least we can help celebrate our local seniors by sharing their information with you.

Any spring sports senior who would like to have their Senior Night profile shared, please email it to and we will publish it under their spring sport.

Post graduation plans- Attend Ball State University and major in telecommunications.

Athlete’s comments- To all the underclassmen, do not take it for granted. It will fly by. Coaches, thank you so much for pushing me to be my very best every practice, and it shows with the championships we won (and should have won).

Coach’s comments- Austen has had an excellent track and field career at RCHS as a key contributor on three strong teams. Austen filled varsity spots in a variety of events through his career but, as a junior, filled in very well in the high jump and the 300m hurdles. Due to poor weather at the sectional meet last year, his final attempt in the high jump was postponed until the next day. With all the pressure and only one attempt, Austen cleared a career best height and later celebrated a team sectional championship. Early indications showed he was ready for a strong year in the high jump. Austen is a great leader and teammate who works hard and has overcome significant adversity. I am personally disappointed I will not get to coach him one last time, but I am confident he has a successful future ahead of him.
