East Central’s Hall places 13th in state finals

IHSAA Girls Swimming State Finals Recap
Saturday, February 13 at IUPUI in Indianapolis

East Central’s Kyra Hall finished tied for 13th in the 100 Back during Saturday’s IHSAA Girls Swimming State Championships.  The senior’s time was 56.97.  She swam 56.21 during Friday’s prelims.

This was a return state finals appearance for Hall who, as a junior, placed 12th in the same event with a time of 57.26.

As a sophomore, Hall qualified for state but did not advance to the finals as she posted a 26th place time of 58.00.  Only the top 16 out of Friday’s prelims qualify for Saturday’s finals.

And, yes, the Carmel girls easily won the 2021 team championship for a national record 35th consecutive time.  The Greyhounds scored 479 points which was 279 points ahead of second place Fishers at 200.

We thank the IHSAA for the state finals information.
