Edited recap from Franklin County’s Alex McCool- The Wildcats made a few costly mistakes early against Hagerstown as the Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Franklin County came back to go up 4-3 in the top of the third, but Hagerstown secured the win late by coming up with a few more timely hits than the Wildcats.

Franklin County had several opportunities throughout the game to score additional runs but struggled to drive in runs when they had players in scoring position. The Wildcats left 9 runners on base.

(JV Center Grove Invite GM 1) Terre Haute North 5, Franklin County 3 (home)

Edited recap from Franklin County’s Alex McCool- Franklin County’s JV made the long trip to Center Grove for their invitational and played well in both games.

In game 1, Franklin County took a 3-0 lead with two runs in the second inning and then added one in the third.  It was a very well played game by both teams and pitching was great for both teams. The Patriots eventually went in front on four hits and a Wildcat error in the fifth scoring five runs.  The Wildcats had chances to tie it in their last three at bats but weren’t able to do so.

(JV Center Grove Invite GM 2) Franklin County 10 (home), Terre Haute South 9,

Edited recap from Franklin County’s Alex McCool- In Game 2, Franklin County picked up a 10-9 victory over Terre Haute South. The Wildcats collected 10 hits to go along with 10 runs. None of them were bigger than Cami Barker’s walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning.

After allowing the Braves to tie the game at 9-9 in the top of the seventh, the first two Wildcat hitters were retired to take Franklin County down to their its out. The next at bat, Kristin Ison beat out an infield single to shortstop to put the winning run on first. After a passed ball allowed Ison to advance to second, Barker crushed a line drive to center field to score Ison and give the Wildcats the victory!
