Semifinals- Southwestern 3, Greensburg 2

Edited recap from Southwestern’s Kenny Garrett- We pulled out a nice first round win at host Greensburg 3-2. The girls all played really hard in the heat.

Elle continued her strong play as of late improving her record to 13-6 with a big 6-1, 6-0 win over a nice player in Jenna.  Julia just continues to be solid at number two for us winning 6-3, 6-1 to improve to 17-2 on the season. Audrey played a solid first set, even in the loss, but hit a wall in the second set. She has just got to be more confident in her hitting ability.

One doubles stayed on track with their great play and were next off the court to secure the win for us. Since Chloe has returned, they have won six in a row in impressive fashion. Great communication is the key for these two. Two doubles played a really nice first set against a 14-1 doubles team but fizzled in the second set to lose in two.

We really need these girls to step up on Saturday against Jennings County in the final and play relaxed. Now 16-3 on the season we are right where we wanted to be and have a chance to bring home some hardware if we are ready to play.

Edited recap from Greensburg’s Katrina Peters- The Pirates lost to Southwestern Hanover last night, 2-3.  The wins came from Olivia Colson at #3 singles, and Janae Comer/Hailey Duerstock at #2 doubles.
