Batesville 5 (home), South Dearborn 0

Edited recap from Batesville’s Bryan Helvie- Batesville defeated visiting South Dearborn 5-0. The Lady Bulldogs gave up just one game over the five varsity matches.

Senior Betsy Harmeyer was a 6-1 and 6-0 winner at No. 1 singles while Summer Ratcliffe and Chloe Saler were straight set winners at No. 2 and 3 singles respectively.

Kayla Stone teamed up with Malia Scheele to defeat Baileigh Lack and Juliette Hurst 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Cayman Werner and Cara VanSickle won 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 2 against Grayce Kloyer and Maria Townsend.

Belle Westerfeld and Isabelle Wonnell each posted junior varsity singles wins as did Katelyn Martin and Ella Dieterlen. Jada Day and Ella Wolters were victorious over the Lady Knights in doubles play.

Edited recap from South Dearborn’s Don Karasek-  South Dearborn lost to Batesville 5-0. The winner of our team’s the sportsmanship award was Sidney Barth and the winner of the toughness award was Kylee Sebastian.

East Central 5 (home), Greensburg 0

  • 1 Singles- Heidi Kane (EC) def. Foster (GB) 6-0, 6-0
  • 2 Singles- Payton Pies (EC) def. Chapman (GB) 6-1, 6-1
  • 3 Singles- Rile Bamberger (EC) def. Colson (GB) 6-2, 6-1
  • 1 Doubles- Elizabeth Kirchgassner and Michelle Batta (EC) def. Pumphrey/Hoeing (GB) 2-6, 6-2, 6-4
  • 2 Doubles- Lacey Kelly and Avery Daniels (EC) def. Comer/Duerstock (GB) 2-6, 6-4, 6-2

Edited recap from Greensburg’s Katrina Peters- The Pirates lost their conference matchup against East Central 5-0.  The doubles teams put up hard-fought battles, but ultimately fell short. Both doubles teams won their first sets handily, but lost in 3 sets. The #1 doubles team of Hoeing/Pumphrey lost 6-2, 3-6, 4-6. The #2 doubles team of Comer/Duerstock picked up their first loss of the season 6-1, 4-6, 1-6. The Pirates move to 4-4 on the season.

The JV Pirates picked up 3 victories. Morgan Cain won 6-2. Claire Nobbe and Anne Pumphrey won 2 different doubles matches, 6-2 in the first and 6-0 in the second.
