(VAR) Conner 2, South Dearborn 0 (home)

South Dearborn edited recap from coach Jon Wismann-  The Lady Knights took on the Conner Cougars for their second match of the season at South Dearborn ending in a 0-2 defeat for the Red, White, and Blue. It was a defensive game for the Lady Knights with SD only taking six shots on goal.  All came from sophomore Bernadette Wismann.

South Dearborn was aggressive throughout the midfield with Bailey Eaves, Bentley Hinkle, Jenna Hufford and Sophie Ferguson leading the charge. Forward Mikayla Rudisell and wings Lauren McHenry, Emma Cesene, Abby Lane and Izzy Daily kept up the attack setting up multiple chances in the offensive third.

The Lady Knight defense was tough and included Quinn Heizer, Hailey Huber, Marissa Womble, Rylli Heffelfinger, Brooklyn Ward, and Olivia Probst. Along with goalkeeper Taytum Barker racking up over 20 saves, SD held the Cougars scoreless for the first 36 minutes of the match. Conners’ second goal did not come until midway through the second half with a long shot sailing just out of Barker’s reach.

It was a hard-fought game and the Lady Knights were certainly in good form.
