2A-27 at Batesville- Greensburg 3, Shortridge 0

Pirates led 1-0 at the half.

Edited report from Greensburg coach Ryan Morlan: The Lady Pirates showed up to play and took home the victory, 3-0.  Captain Keeper Ella Lowe only saw nine shots from the Blue Devils thanks to the defensive line led by captains Katie Beam and Hilary Ernstes. Emily Million and Scotlynn Reinhold rounded out the defensive line starters.

With 12 minutes off the clock, Emilee Ernstes scored our first goal with an assist from Macey Smith. The score was 1-0 at the end of the first half.

Momentum continued for Greensburg in the second half. The first goal of the was a shot taken by captain Emily Rosales which deflected off a Shortridge player into the goal. Rosales scored again a few minutes which tied a GCHS record for most goals in a single season (12).  It also brought the score to 3-0 and advanced the Pirates to the sectional finals for a second year in a row to face Cathedral.

2A-27 at Batesville- Indianapolis Cathedral 3, Batesville 0

Tied 0-0 at half.

Edited report from Batesville coach Caleb Sucietto: Thursday’s second round game against Indianapolis Cathedral was a tough game for both teams.  The Lady Bulldogs played stout defense, created offensive chances in the first half, and kept the score tied nil-nil at halftime.  In the second half Cathedral scored twice early on. The Lady Bulldogs continued to show heart and determination but, in the end, Cathedral came out 3-nil winners.

2A-28 at Rushville- Connersville 3, Rushville 1

Edited report from Connersville coach Jeff Cooley: Scoring for the Spartans were Claire Kleve with 2 goals and Brittney Bottomley with 1 goal. Molly Crank had 2 assists. Eden Judd had 7 saves. The ladies next play for the sectional title on Saturday vs. Lawrenceburg.

2A-28 at Rushville- Lawrenceburg 9, Franklin County 0

No additional details were available.

The Tigers advanced to Saturday’s championship against Connersville.
