Girls Soccer Recaps- Thursday, September 3

Southwestern 0 (home), South Ripley 0

Edited match report from Southwestern coach Nancy Totten: We played South Ripley to a 0-0 tie. Our defense and midfield have made great strides in control and play the last two games. Savannah White played a great game at defense and helped a bit on offense as well. Kailey Burns did a great job positioning, reading the field, and delivering intelligent passes.

Switzerland County 4, Rising Sun 0 (home)

Switzerland County goals: Kenzie Taylor 2, Halle Archer 2. Assists- Archer.

Madison 2, Greensburg 1 (home)

Edited match report from Greensburg coach Ryan Morlan: Even though the Lady Pirates defense managed to catch the Cubs offsides 14 times, it was not enough. The Cubs challenged keeper Ella Lowe by taking 28 shots on goal, one of which was a penalty kick. While Lowe impressively kept 26 of those shots out, two managed to settle in goal.

It was a hard-fought match by both sides. The Pirates took 18 shots on goal with Macey Smith taking the most at six and Smith scoring the only Greensburg goal.  This brings the Pirates record to 4-3.

East Central 6 (home), Connersville 0 (EC 5-0 at half)

Edited match report from Connersville coach Jeff Cooley: Eden Judd had 14 saves.

(JV) East Central 4 (home), Connersville 0
