In the championship, the Knights defeated top ranked Brebeuf 2-1 to win the program’s second regional title.  The other was captured in 2010.  SD had only four shots on goal (and six total) but made the most of them.  Erin Huber scored both goals off assists from Hensley and Cutter.

The win over No. 1 Brebeuf for a regional championship is arguably the biggest in history for Lady Knights Soccer.  No. 10 South Dearborn is now 17-4 and advances to the Evansville North Semi-State on Saturday, October 26 where the Knights will face No. 4 Evansville Mater Dei (14-6-1) at 2 pm Eastern/1 pm Central Time.  The Wildcats defeated North Harrison 4-1 and No. 11 Northview 7-2 to secure the Jasper Regional championship.  This was EMD’s ninth regional title.
