(BKT/MG-Sat) Lady Rebel 7th defeats Pacers with 4th quarter run

Vevay-  Southwestern’s seventh grade girls posted a 31-20 win on Thursday Vevay’s Old Gym.

It was a 9-7 game in favor of the Lady Pacers after the first quarter.  The two teams were knotted at 17-17 at halftime.    The Lady Rebels moved in front 20-17 after the third quarter then closed with an 11-3 run to win 31-20.

“Southwestern really pressured us in the second half and caused us to turn the ball over,” said Switzerland County coach Corey Lay.  “They capitalized on our mistakes and played a great game defensively in the second half.  Good job to Abby Ralston and Kiah Means for their performance offensively too.”

Southwestern- Kiah Means 10 (8 in first half), Abby Ralston 10, Ashley Cloud 4, Tessa Bowling 2, Jasmine Fossett 2, Megan Thomas 2 and Kenzie Roark 1.

Switzerland County scoring- Lexi Lay 10, Hailey Gerster 4, Calleigh Powell 2, Sierra Hamilton 2 and Ariel Oeffinger 2.
