Jac-Cen-Del 49, Southwestern 45; Eagles win ORVC

Hanover- The girls’ ORVC title came down to a pair of 5-0 league teams facing off Thursday at the King Gym in Hanover.  Host Southwestern fought back from a 13-point deficit in the first half to take a fourth quarter lead. However, Jac-Cen-Del scored the game’s final seven points to win 49-45 and capture its third straight conference championship.

Coach Scott Smith’s Eagles posted a 17-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and went up 29-16 in the second.  But coach Devin Brierly’s Rebels rebounded to trail by just four at the half, 31-27.

The Rebels also placed two players in double figure scoring.  Trinity McLain headlined the hosts with 14 points to go along with five caroms.  Ashton Goode scored 12.
