Coach Scott Smith’s Eagles established an early 4-0 advantage but found themselves down 8-7 after the opening quarter.  EC’s Brilan McCory hit triple and two charity tosses for five points and teammate Kyla Maxwell completed a 3-point play.  Annabelle Williams of JCD made a pair of buckets for four points.

Jac-Cen-Del took a brief 12-11 lead in the second quarter but coach Kevin Moore’s East Central club outscored the hosts 9-2 over the rest of the half to go up 20-14 and stayed up the rest of the night.

McCory, Maxwell and Abby Koch all played long ball for the St. Leon ladies.  Mariah Day did likewise for the Osgood gals and added two free throws for a quarter-best five points.

East Central’s favorable point spread reached 11 in the third quarter but was cut to eight before the horn.  McCory and Day both put in five points for their respective clubs.

The fourth quarter was all Trojans as Megan Caudy, McCory and Maxwell scored five points each.  The Eagles, as a team, had just five for the quarter.  Four points came from Paige Ledford.

SEI Local Sports congratulates Brilan McCory as our Whitewater Motor Company Players Of The Game.  McCory scored a game-high 18 points with three 3-pointers. She added eight steals and four assists.

Also of note for the Trojans, Kyla Maxwell netted 12 points with one triple and a pair of 3-point plays.  And their 6’4” senior center, Alyssa Robben, played in her first game this season since recovering from a knee injury.  Mariah Day led Jac in scoring with 10.

Key team stat was turnovers.  The Eagles committed 18 with 14 coming in the second half where EC was able to take advantage of many of them.  The Trojans had just nine miscues.
