Batesville 48, Rushville 14 (home)

Batesville’s Austin Pohlman rushed for 323 yards and six touchdowns on 21 carries.  Travis Lecher threw for one other TD on 3/6 passing for 61 yards.  The scoring reception was by Trey Peters.  Kurt Siefert had 2 catches for 58 yards.

The Bulldogs’ Ben Schebler and Jeremiah Lemmel combined for 30 total tackles.  Vonley Hund had a sack and Josh Mobley blocked a punt.

For Rushville, Josiah Hay ran for 131 yards on 21 totes.  Jake Vance carried eight times for 39 yards and a score.  Austin Vance threw for a TD.  He was 7/21 for 85 yards.  Jake Vance caught the scoring pass, one of four catches for 51 yards.

The Lions’ Jayden Roosa and Hay both led the team with six total tackles.  Nash Paddack had a sack.

Edited comments from Rushville coach Dan Rector: I saw some players make strides this week, but as a team, we need to perform better.  We have our biggest rivalry game next, so we will redouble our efforts to get the team ready to keep the War On 44 trophy.

East Central 36 (home), Franklin County 12

Visiting Franklin County took a 12-6 lead in the third quarter on a 57-yard touchdown pass from Adam Kelly to Jacob Schatzle.  But a Hunter Sohns 10-yard run and Sophie Browndyke kick later in the period put the Trojans back up 13-12.

EC outscored the Cats 23-0 in the fourth quarter.  Sohns and AJ Messmore had rushing touchdowns.  Messmore also threw a TD pass to Nate Buesing.  There was also a safety by the Trojan defense.

For East Central, Sohns rushed for 144 yards with two touchdowns on 26 carries.  Messmore had 71 yards on the ground on 13 carries and a score.  His TD pass was for 18 yards to Buesing who had four catches overall for 51 yards.

Defensively, Hoog had one interception and Perkins recovered a fumble.

For Franklin County, Kelly was 7/17 passing for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  Both scoring receptions went to Schatzle who had three catches total for 73 yards.

Hill was the Wildcats leading tackler with nine stops including one for a loss.  Schatzle had one interception.
