Greensburg’s Hanna and Shawe’s Alderman advance to state

Cross Country Semi-State Recaps from Saturday, October 24

Congratulations to Greensburg’s Brenner Hanna and Shawe’s Calli Alderman who have advanced to the IHSAA Cross Country State Finals.

At Blue River Memorial Park in Shelbyville, Hanna finished 14th with a time of 18:50 to make All Semi-State and qualify for the finals a fourth straight year.

Alderman also earned All Semi-State honors with an 19th place finish at Brown County with a time of 19:20. She is the first Lady Hilltopper to ever make it to the state meet and only the second in school history. The other was Charlie Schultz in 1973.

The girls’ state finals will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, October 31 at Terre Haute’s LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.  The boys follow at 3 pm.

Girls Shelbyville Semi-State Recap

Batesville girls placed 12th with 259 points. Top 6 advancing teams were Carmel (30), Franklin Central (125), Zionsville (135), North Central (179), Noblesville (209) and Franklin Community (211).
