(CC-Sat) Shawe sends high school and junior high runners to Switz

Vevay-  Shawe’s high school and junior high cross country teams competed in tri meets at Switzerland County Thursday.

Shawe varsity girls’ results included Caroline Wehner finishing third with a personal best time of 22:14.  Hannah Storm came in seventh at 25:33 while Mackenzie Ott earned her first ever ribbon with a 15th place time of 31:35.

For Shawe’s boys, Skip Maas was top finisher at 10th place in 20:59.  Andrew Ott was 11th with a mark of 21:40.  Collin Hambrick came in 17th.

While the high school Hilltoppers will move on to ORVC competition on Monday, Thursday’s meet was the final one of the season for the Topper junior high kids.

The Hilltoppers had an outstanding performance by all of their runners headed by the first place effort of Ethan Goebel with a season best time of 10:58.  Zane Love was 11th, Ryan Storm finished 12th while Emory Fisher ran his best race of the season.

“It was great to see the entire team achieve their best times and is an awesome way to end the season,” said Shawe coach Andy Livorno.
