There may be updates, so please check back.

Rushville 4, Franklin County 1

Edited Rushville recap from coach Hollis Heuer: We had two matches go three sets with the Lions Marlin Hershberger losing at #1 singles 6-3, 3-6, 3-6 in his first meeting with Franklin County’s Jack Stirn. This was a highly anticipated match between these two, and it’s likely they will meet again this year with more on the line at conference and sectionals. The other three set win for the Lions came at the other end of the line up.  Mason Mosburg and Lucas Vaughn held on to win at #2 doubles in a third set tie breaker over twins Trevor and Ty Bruns 7-5, 2-6, 7-6(10-8). Edited South Dearborn recap from coach Claudia Miller: Our Knights fell 5-0 agianst Connersville, but our freshmen put up a fight each time they hit the courts. All matches were 6-0, 6-0 losses, but our Knights were determined to have fun and learn.

Our freshman 1st singles, Braxton Tanner, went up against a seasoned Connersville senior, but held his ground returning some hard hit serves and showed true hustle, grit and toughness on the court. Braxton was our Mental Toughness Award winner for the match.

Our freshmen 1st doubles team of Konner Taylor and Payton Stuart also went up against a seasoned team of senior Connersville players. These two young men were determined to have fun and play their best.  Konner was our Sportmanship Award winner as he was determined to show spirit and grow at every opportunity.

All of our young team members truly deserve a huge Knight shout out for the dedication and effort they continue to put into learning this wonderful game of tennis.

We thank everyone who contributed to the recaps.
