Varsity Boys Tennis, Bloomington South Regional Semis- Tuesday, October 8

Seymour 3, Greensburg 2

Greensburg coach Collin Rigney: We fought very hard as a team and were able to overcome some early deficits to get back into the match and make it very competitive. Brett Stringer lost 1-6, 2-6 at 1 singles. Isaac Tebbe played his best match of the year in the biggest match of the year winning 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 at 2 singles. Charlie Pumphrey played very well at 3 singles as well winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. The 1 doubles team of Ben Duerstock and Sam Bower played well but came up short against a good doubles team from Seymour 3-6, 4-6. Lastly, the 2 doubles team of Abe Tebbe and Bryce Stringer had a tough match losing 0-6, 3-6.

Greensburg finished the year with an overall record of 16-2. We were Conference Champs as well as Sectional Champs for the 9th straight year. I was very proud of how my guys got better as the year went on and continued to work hard. Unfortunately, we came up short at the regional, but that gives the returning guys some motivation for next year.

We thank coach Rigney for the regional report.
