Boys Soccer Regional Recaps from Saturday, October 17

2A Semifinals at Greensburg- Tri-West 2, Lawrenceburg 2 (Bruins win 4-3 on PKs)

Edited report via Twitter from Greensburg’s Mike Myers and Lawrenceburg coach DeWayne Uhlman through Judy Reese of the LHS athletic department: Lawrenceburg lost in a shootout to 12th ranked Tri-West.  It was 2-2 through overtime with Asher Gentry scoring both Tiger goals.  He was assisted by Jason Cosby and Ryan Moorman.  Carson Scott had eight saves.  In the shootout, the Bruins outscored LHS 4-3 in penalty kicks.  The Tigers end their season with a record of 9-7-1.

3A Semifinals at Carmel- East Central 1, Plainfield 0

Edited report from East Central’s boys soccer Twitter account: East Central upset No. 17 Plainfield 1-0.  The Trojans’ JT Roden scored on a Matthew Hornbach assist with about 26 minutes to play in the second half.  Landon Weis made multiple saves in the final 10 minutes to help secure the win.

3A Championship at Carmel- Franklin Central 2, East Central 2 (Flashes win 4-2 on PKs)

Edited report from East Central’s boys soccer Twitter account and other online accounts: East Central scored first.  Franklin Central scored the next two.  The go-ahead goal came about four minutes into the second half.  Then the Trojans tied the match with about six minutes left in regulation at 2-2.  After no scoring in 14 minutes of overtime, Franklin Central won 4-2 on penalty kicks. One of the East Central regulation goals was by JT Roden and assisted by Chance Muncy.  The other EC goal was not reported.  The Trojans end their season with a record of 15-3-1.
