Rushville coach Chris Chastain: The Lions faced a tough conference opponent, Lawrenceburg, on the home pitch.  The Lions started a bit slow; however, ten minutes into the first half, the team began to flow and face the Tigers with more confidence and determination.  About halfway through the first half, the Tigers found the back of the net.  Rushville stayed strong for the remainder of the half.  At halftime, the scoreboard read 1-0 Tigers.

In the second half, the momentum shifted to the Lions.  While there were a few opportunities for the Lions to score, they just couldn’t get them to fall.  While Rushville kept the Tigers from netting the ball again, the game ended 1-0 Lawrenceburg with Chase Custer having an impressive number of saves for the Lions.

I’m really proud of the effort we put together for a complete game that challenged an excellent opponent.  Everyone did a tremendous job, from our backline defense holding strong against a lot of pressure, to our midfield core transitioning from defense to offense and offense to defense, to our attackers having and creating opportunities up top.  Every single player deserves to be named here.  If we continue to play in this fashion, we should experience a lot of success.

We thank coach Chastain along with Lawrenceburg coach DeWayne Uhlman and AD secretary Judy Reese for the match info.
