Comments from Franklin County’s Dustin Riley- The tournament was a successful day for my team in general. Zach Jewell (junior) missed getting into a playoff for Regionals by one stroke. Austin Hill (freshman) missed it by 3. Both Austin and Zach had a better back nine score than front nine. They fought back and gave themselves a shot to move on to Regionals. All of my players shot a better score on the back nine at sectionals. Forest Hills isn’t an easy course to play. It’s also difficult when the range isn’t open for warm-up due to all the rain we have had recently. Overall, I’m proud of how they played yesterday and I see them improving their record next season with the experience gained this season.

We thank the IHSAA for the sectional results and coach Riley for his comments.
