(BKT/MB-Fri) BMS 7th, GMS 8th each win Thursday

Lawrenceburg- Batesville’s seventh graders won 41-21 at Greendale on Thursday while the Bengal eighth grade prevailed 35-31.

In the seventh grade contest, Luke Belter led the Bulldogs (now 5-2) in scoring with 13 points including making all five attempts from the free throw line.  Trey Heidlage scored eight, Cooper Williams had seven and Lane Oesterling added six.  Defensively for Batesville, Devin Scripture had five steals and Cooper Williams added four deflections.

Greendale led the eighth grade contest at all quarter stops (8-3, 20-10 and 25-18) before holding on to win by four.

For BMS, Isaac Barker had 17 points, Lane Westerfeld scored eight and Jayden Beal netted six points. Sam Wade provided a nice spark for the team in the second half.

Greendale (now 6-2) was led by Curtis White with 11 points and Evan Pennington with eight. The Bengals knocked down four three pointers on the night.

One night earlier, the Bengal eighth grade ran out to a 12-2 lead against Switzerland County.  The Pacers fought back and forced overtime with a three point bucket with five seconds to go in regulation.   Greendale’s Braden Abdon put the Bengals up for good with three pointer of his own and led the Bengals with 15 points.  White followed with 14 and Even Pennington added seven.
