(webcast) Southwestern 89, Rising Sun 52

Rising Sun- Southwestern put on a dominating performance Friday at Rising Sun as the Rebels defeated the Shiners 89-52.

Coach Zac Nussbaum’s Hanover crew scored the game’s first 12 points.  Rising Sun got the next five, then the Rebels rattled off 32 more to lead 44-5 late in the second quarter.   It was 27-5 at the end of the first period and 49-12 at halftime.

Southwestern’s Austin Kramer had 21 points at intermission while teammate Matt Williams scored 10.  Brady Works’ seven points led Rising Sun.

In the second half, coach Brandon Snodgrass’ Shiners came out playing hard but could not gain any ground against their ORVC opponent.  The Rebs led 69-28 after three.

Williams and Kramer continued to push the scoring for Southwestern with eight and six quarter points respectively.  Peyton Merica netted seven for the host Shiners.

With subs moving into the game throughout the fourth quarter, Rising Sun had a four-point edge over the final eight minutes, but Southwestern won easily 89-52.

Eight different Rebels scored in the closing quarter with Bryce Hatton and Parker Davis coming off the bench to post four points each.  Chris Bowne knocked down a trio of treys for the Shiners for nine while teammate Dalton Vinup hit from distance twice for six.
