Coach Scott McClelland’s 12th ranked Yelllow Jackets opened with an 8-2 run and held a 16-12 lead after the first quarter.  Morristown’s Drake Moore accounted for 12 points on four, three-point shots. Jake Johnson countered with 10 points for Oldenburg which included a pair of triples.

The Jackets outscored the Twisters 12-7 in the second stanza and stretched their advantage to 28-19 at the half.  Morristown’s Kyle Crim scored seven in the quarter while Oldenburg’s Dempsy Bohman had five.  Both players made one three ball.

Coach Gary Moorman’s 13th ranked Twisters chipped away at the deficit in the third and drew within a point by quarter’s end, 35-34.  Johnson, by himself, outscored Morristown 8-7 in the period.  Twister teammates Zach Wegman added a couple field goals and Andrew Oesterling nailed a trifecta.

A Johnson three at the beginning of the final quarter gave OA its first lead since 2-0 then a second Johnson bomb soon after put the Twisters in front to stay.  Johnson’s 11 points and five by Oesterling provided most of the damage.  Krim and Sawyer Jones both hit a three for the Jackets but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with OA which won 54-46.

Our Southeastern Indiana REMC Power Player of the Game was Oldenburg’s Jake Johnson who led all scorers with 31 points.  The senior hit four shots from long range and was nine of 10 from the line.

Andrew Oesterling finished with 10 points while Morristown’s Drake Moore and Kyle Crim had 16 and 13 points respectively.

Oldenburg committed only three turnovers in 32 minutes of play and, collectively, made 12 of 14 free throws.
