Osgood- Jac-Cen-Del pulled within one game in the win column behind ORVC leader Milan Tuesday but not without a challenge by visiting Rising Sun.  The Eagles defeated the Shiners 55-49 to move to 3-0 within the division.  The Indians are 4-0 and will host JCD on Saturday.

Coach Jack Day’s Osgood boys never trailed in the midweek clash.  Following a pair of early ties, JCD led 18-13 after one quarter and held a 30-24 advantage at the half following a Wyatt Day triple at the buzzer.  Day led all scorers with 12 points while teammate Brandon Baber and Rising Sun’s TJ Manifold scored eight each.

Coach Rick Scholl’s Shiners hung right in there and tied the game twice late in the third quarter before a Baber rebound and stick back closed the period with JCD showing a 42-40 edge.  Baber bucketed six in the stanza while Chase Kuehn put in five for RS.

The hosts got off to hot start in the fourth.  A 13-4 run was launched on a three pointer by Jac’s Christian Comer who was back after missing several games with an injury.  Down 11, the Sun scored the game’s final five points but fell by six, 55-49.

Our Southeastern Indiana REMC Power Players of the Game were Jac-Cen-Del’s Wyatt Day and Brandon Baber.  Both scored four points in the closing quarter and each finished with a game-high 18.

TJ Manifold, Landon Cole and Chase Kuehn scored 12, 11 and 10 respectively for Rising Sun.

The Shiners shot well at the line making 13 of 16 and outrebounded the Eagles by seven.  However, RS committed eight more turnovers which helped lead to six additional made field goals for JCD.
