Wilkerson resigns as Boys Varsity Basketball Coach

After one season at the helm of the Boys Varsity Basketball program at Shawe Memorial High School, Coach Sherron Wilkerson has resigned from his position. Coach Wilkerson met with the team Monday afternoon to tell them the news.

“We are saddened to see Coach Wilkerson leave our program. It was a pleasure to get to know Coach Wilkerson on both a personal and professional level.

The Hilltoppers went 4-19 in Coach Wilkerson’s one season as Head Coach.

“Coach Wilkerson brought a lot of basketball experience and knowledge that we hope will carry on through these student-athletes and all student-athletes who will come up through the Shawe Boys basketball program in the future.”

Shawe Memorial has now officially begun the search for a Boys Varsity Basketball Coach. All applications can be sent to Shawe Athletic Director Stephen Sims by sending a resume to Any questions can be addressed by calling 812-273-2150 ext. 229.

“We are now focused to find someone to come in and take over what Coach Wilkerson started with this team. Our administration is dedicated to finding the right person to lead these student-athletes and to be a leader for not just Shawe basketball, but Shawe High School as a whole”

We thank Shawe AD Steve Sims for the press release.
