Batesville 55, Franklin County 37- 3A Sectional 29 Round 1

In Wednesday’s final round one game of 3A Sectional 29, Batesville defeated Franklin County 55-37.  The Bulldogs led at each stop: 8-4, 21-13 and 37-22.

Batesville hit 21 of 49 total shot attempts for 43 percent.  Franklin County was held to 29 percent on 12 of 41 tries.

Batesville saw Trey Heidlage and Robert Raver lead all scorers with 13 points each.  RJ Powell added 10.  Raver, Powell and Sam Voegele each had a team-best five rebounds.  Powell also notched a night-high four assists.

For the Wildcats (2-19), Jordan Floyd and Aden Gerrian both scored seven points. Floyd also had a game-high seven caroms.

Batesville (13-10) advances to Friday’s second semifinal and will play Rushville (9-14) around 7:30 pm.  That game will be preceded at 6 pm by South Dearborn (8-15) and No. 2 Greensburg (23-1).

“The Wildcats will have several returning players for next season and the team will go into the off season hungry for improvement,” said Franklin County assistant coach Kyle Van Meter. “The FCBB family would like to thank our three seniors: Jordan Floyd, Tanner Walsh and Cole Erfmen for all the time and effort they have put into the Wildcat program.”
