After trading baskets to open the game, Switzerland County went on a 10-0 run to establish its first double-digit lead. A 6-0 Shawe run cut the deficit to 12-8 at the initial break. The Pacers’ Patrick Stow led all scorers in the first frame with seven points.

The second quarter saw two ties and a two lead changes.  Shawe’s Henry Grote caught fire hitting three triples for nine points while Zach Weaver paced Switz with six points and numerous hustle plays on both ends of the floor.

The first tie came at 16 after a strip/steal and lay-in by Shawe’s Chandler Cole. Cole was fouled and converted the traditional three-point play to give the Hilltoppers their only lead of the contest, 17-16. The Pacers went on a 7-0 run only to be followed by six straight points by the Toppers to knot the game at 23. As the seconds closed before the half, Dalton Tingle gave they hosts the lead, 25-23.

After the halftime break, Switz used streaks of nine and 10 straight points to take control of the game by 20 points.  A stifling defense along with cold shooting by Shawe helped the Pacers outscore the Hilltoppers 22-6 in the third stanza. The third quarter closed with host team on top, 47-29.

Even though Shawe was able to get some scoring early in the fourth, Switz did not relinquish the double-digit lead. The strong three-point shooting continued as the Pacers hit 6 of 13 threes in the second half, three in each period. Rebounding also played a big factor allowing multiple second chance opportunities for the Pacers.  The team totalled 20 offensive boards as they outrebounded the Hilltoppers 47-23.

As the horn sounded for the final time, Switzerland County earned its second conference victory and back-to-back wins for the first time this season, 70-41 over Shawe.
