Batesville 73, Madison 69

Boys Varsity Basketball at Batesville- Saturday, February 2

Batesville 73, Madison 69

Host Batesville and Madison had quite a battle Saturday at the Dog Pound.  The Bulldogs won the tight 3A contest 73-69.

For a second straight game, Colt Meyer scored a team-best 20 points. Robert Raver recorded 15 and Sam Voegele logged 12.  Voegele’s 6 rebounds and RJ Powell’s 8 assists were both team highs.  Powell also scored 9 points.

For Madison, Cooper Yancey was the top scorer with 17 points while both Mason Welsh and Luke Miller followed with 14 each.  Nick Center collected 8 caroms and chipped in six points.

Welsh and Meyer both hit four triples for their respective clubs.

From a stats perspective, there was nothing that really jumped off the page as the final numbers mirrored the close final score.

Batesville won the JV game 50-48.  Top scorers for the JV Bulldogs were Seth Gausman with 10, Thomas Raver 9, Lleyton Ratcliffe 9 and Austin Cornn 7.

We thank Batesville coaches Aaron Garrett and Jay Gerkin along with Madison Boys Basketball for the game reports.
