The teams were tied three different times in the first quarter.  Oldenburg’s Jake Johnson broke the last tie at 8 apiece when he hit his first trifect of the game to put the visiting Twisters up, 11-8.  They never trailed again. Kris Hetzer scored five in the opening stanza for the Twisters while Johnson and Andrew Oesterling each hit a 3-pointer.  Cody Samples scored all eight Raider points on a field goal and a pair of long distance shots.

Johnson’s second trey opened the scoring in the second stanza to push the Twister advantage to 14-8.  Sparks answered with his third arc buster of the game for South Ripley.  The teams traded points for the rest of the half.  The final three came on a bomb by the Raiders’ Aaron Greiwe to make it 21-18.  FOr the period, Hetzer and Johnson led OA scoring with 5 points. Hetzer finished the first half with 10. Four different Raiders scored in the quarter but no one had more than a field goal. Samples had a game-high 11 in the first half for the home team.

The Twisters turned up the defense in the third, outscoring South Ripley 13-4 to take their first double digit lead of the game.  Hetzer added six more points for the windy ones, all coming on steals and layups. Oesterling scored the other seven points for the Tornadoes, hitting his second deep ball of the game and a pair of field goals.  Greiwe and Zach Gentile each scored a deuce for South Ripley.

Oldenburg’s Dempsy Bohman hit 1 of 2 free throws to open the scoring in the final quarter.  There were only seven free throw attempts in the game, all by OA.  Greiwe’s field goal for the Raiders stopped a run of 10 consecutive Twisters points but was Ripley’s final bucket of the game.  Oldenburg scored the night’s final nine points to win 44-24.  In the closing quarter, Oesterling connected on his third triple while Eli Sporleder sank the rock twice for four points.
