The Knights took advantage of miscues by the Pacer defense to get on the board in the bottom of the first inning, sending 12 batters to the plate with six coming home to score.  Nolan McLane drove in two runs with a double to the gap in left center.  Adam Kunkel batted in a run with a sacrifice fly while Dylon Wynn plating a run with a single.

SD batted around again in the bottom of the second, scoring three more times.  With one out, the Knights loaded the bases on singles by Reese Willoughby and McLane sandwiching a walk issued to Dalton Traue.  Kunkel singled to left to score a pair.  A single by Hunter Hatfield loaded the bases again before Wynn drove in his second run of the game with a sac fly.

Meanwhile, SD starting pitcher Dalton Hatfield was keeping the Pacer bats in check.  He issued a walk to Dakota Wallace to lead off the game but then proceeded to set down the next nine Switz batters in order, seven coming via the strikeout including five consecutive.

The Knights scored their final run in the bottom of the third.  With one out, Willoughby hit a solo homer to left for his first dinger of the season.

Switzerland County’s best scoring chance came in the top of the fourth against SD reliever Luke Brown.  Kaleb Koons reached on a lead off error.  One out later, pinch hitter Carter Baldwin worked a walk to move Koons into scoring position.  However, Brown responded with back-to-back strikeouts to end the threat.

Preston Sullivan worked a scoreless fifth for the Knights striking out two to give South Dearborn pitching 11 punchouts for the game.

Dalton Hatfield and Adam Kunkel were named our Southeastern Indiana REMC Power Players of the Game.  Hatfield started and pitched three no-hit innings and fanned seven to pick up the win.  Kunkel went 2 for 2 at the plate with three runs batted in.
