The Lakers got things going immediately against Rising Sun starter Brayden Bush.  Ethan Burdette opened the game with a lead off walk. Logan Burris sacrificed Burdette to 2nd with a perfect bunt that he beat out for an infield single.  Devin Stienstra dropped a double down the left field line to score Burdette and move Burris to 3rd, allowing him to score on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 Lakers after 1 inning.

Shakamak added another run in the bottom of the 3rd.  After the first 2 batters of the inning were retired, Draven Cox singled followed by a walk to Peyton Yeryar.  Nick Kinnett then sliced a single to left to score Cox and put the Lakers up 3-0.

Rising Sun had scoring opportunities in each of the first 3 innings, getting a runner into scoring position in each inning.  Laker starter Levi Webb and the Laker defense rose to the occasion each time to keep the Shiners scoreless. After issuing a lead off walk to Jon Jiminez to lead off the 3rd inning, Webb retired 9 Shiners in a row.

In the top of the 6th, Webb came up big once again.  Jake Bovard singled to lead off the inning, his 2nd hit of the game.  Brayden Bush followed with a 4-pitch walk to put the first 2 Shiner batters aboard.  Webb beared down, getting 2 pop outs in foul territory to first baseman Draven Cox then a strikeout to get out of the inning without allowing a run.

Rising Sun came to the plate in the top of the 7th needing 3 runs to extend their season.  With one out, Max Bowne beat out an infield single. After Webb got a pop out for the 2nd out, Jon Jiminez lined a single to left to bring the tying run to the plate in Jake Bovard.  Bovard led the Shiners in hitting and homeruns this season and already had 2 hits on the game. He got ahead 2-1 and drilled a Webb pitch off the wall in right for a 2-run double to bring the Shiners within a run.  Bovard moved to 3rd on a wild pitch to bring the tying run 90 feet away. Webb ended the game with his 4th strikeout of the game to send the Lakers to the championship game.
