Borden 7, Shawe 4

Unedited game report from Shawe coach Geno Pawlak:

Shawe’s baseball team definitely saved their best for last. In the semifinals of sectional 62, Shawe went toe to toe with Borden for 7 innings before losing 7-4.
Borden started the scoring plating 1 run in the 2nd to take a one-run lead. After a scoreless 3rd, the Hilltoppers came back scoring 3 runs in the top of the 4th.
Walker Kennett led off with a single, Matthew Binzer reached on an error and Hunter Kennett plated both runners with a double.  Nate Pawlak reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on Christian Whitham s single.  Borden answered with a run in the 4th. Shawe then scored in the top of the 5th when Bryan Avalos reached on a dropped third strike and later scored on Matthew Binzer‘s single. Borden tied it in the fifth and took the lead for good after scoring 3 in the bottom of the 6th.
Nate Pawlak started on the mound and took the loss allowing 7 runs all earned. At the plate, the Hilltoppers were led by Walker Kennett who was 2/4 with a run scored. Hunter Kennett was 1/4 with 2 RBIs. Matthew Binzer and Christian Whitham had a single and an RBI. TJ Stitzel and Nate Pawlak each added a single.
Shawe says goodbye to two seniors Matthew Binzer and Bryan Avalos.

We thank coach Pawlak for the report.
