Athletes of the Week for January 25-February 6

SEI Local Sports thanks our area coaches and athletic directors who took the time to honor one or more of their varsity, junior varsity and freshmen athletes as an Athlete of the Week (AOW). This edition is for the two-week period of January 25-February 6, 2021. Every athlete submitted is worthy and honored as an AOW.

In addition, a committee has selected a group of varsity level AOWs as Elite Athletes of the Week based on the number and quality of varsity level submissions for each gender of both the EIAC and ORVC conferences.  ORVC includes Oldenburg (a state independent).

NOTE- for this edition, any submitted athlete or team who won a sectional or regional championship automatically received Elite recognition.

While some athletes participate in sports not recognized as conference sports by the EIAC and ORVC, those athletes are still eligible for Elite AOW consideration under their school’s EIAC or ORVC/Independent affiliation.

  • Other information: Congratulations to all of the teams that played in Sectional 45.  Each team was well coached and prepared.  To all the seniors, I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

  • Submitter’s personal comments: With the season the way it was concerning COVID, quarantine, and pool trouble, we weren’t sure what would happen last week. Julia brought her ‘A’ game to the meet and we are very proud of her!
