2020 Fall Sports Senior Athletes Of The Year

This is our Fall Sports Senior Athletes Of The Year.  The number of submissions for this special, end-of-season edition is significantly less than past Athletes Of The Year publications.  This is due in large part to many schools in remote learning either full time or part time and the additional strain on time and resources the various COVID restrictions have caused.  I am very appreciative of the coaches, ADs and team representatives who took the time to provide such wonderful submissions about the seniors who played for them this season.

We are proud to recognize every senior athlete submitted.  In addition, a select group submitted have been named by our seven-member committee as Fall Sports Senior Athletes Of The Year.

Below were the nomination guidelines:

  • There was no limit on the number of senior submissions sent by a coach, AD or authorized team representative.
  • All senior athletes submitted are recognized.  It is an honor just to be nominated.
  • All submissions must have been sent using the AOW link provided in multiple email communications or the AOW link on the website and received by Sunday, November 22 at midnight.  The publish date is Tuesday, November 24.
  • All submissions were evaluated on the following criteria in order of importance:
  • 1- Senior year accomplishments during his or her fall sport.
  • 2- Career accomplishments during his or her fall sport.
  • 3- Other sports, school and community activities and academics.
  • Senior submissions were reviewed by a seven member committee and a select group were chosen as Fall Sports Senior Athletes Of The Year.  Number selected was determined based on the number and quality of submissions for each gender of both the EIAC and ORVC conferences.  As always, the ORVC group included independent Oldenburg.
  • While some athletes participate in sports not recognized as conference sports by the EIAC and ORVC, those athletes were still eligible for Athlete Of The Year consideration under their school’s EIAC or ORVC/Independent affiliation.
  • To minimize the possibility of bias, the committee did not see names of athletes, coaches or schools affiliated with or competing against.
