August Athletes Of The Month

SEI Local Sports would like to thank our area coaches and athletic directors who took the time to honor one or more of their varsity, junior varsity and freshmen athletes as an Athlete of the Month (AOM). This edition is for August 2020. Every athlete submitted is worthy and honored as an AOM.

In addition, a committee has selected a group of varsity level AOMs as Elite Athletes of the Month based on the number and quality of varsity level submissions for each gender of both the EIAC and ORVC conferences.

While some athletes participate in sports not recognized as conference sports by the EIAC and ORVC, those athletes are still eligible for Elite AOM consideration under their school’s EIAC or ORVC/Independent affiliation.

Ashton Cotton of South Dearborn

  • Athlete’s accomplishments: Ashton had 7 goals and 2 assists in August.
  • Submitter’s personal comments: Ashton is a smart player with a great attitude and is hungry to score goals!
  • Other information: Ashton is a smart kid and almost like an adult stuck in the body of an adolescent. Since he was a little guy, he has enjoyed spending time at a favorite chili diner bellied up to the bar, reading the newspaper, or shooting the breeze with a wiser, calmer generation. On the pitch, he uses his own calm demeanor and intelligence to sneak past the lines, make runs, and then send the ball screaming to the back of the net.
