FRANKLIN COUNTY ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Karlie Hahn of Franklin County
- Level/Sport: Varsity Girls Soccer
- Athlete’s year/position: Senior Goalkeeper
- Submitted by: Cynthia Adams
- Submitter’s position: Head Coach
- Athlete’s accomplishments: Karlie is a first time (yes, first time ever) soccer player but an exceptional athlete. She recorded 21 saves in her first 2 games against East Central and Rising Sun. In our official scrimmage against Centerville, she had 12 saves and also scored her first-ever goal. She currently sits atop the leader board with 21 saves.
- Submitter’s personal comments: Karlie is triple-sport athlete playing varsity basketball and varsity softball. This summer, she often pulled two-a-days with basketball in the morning and soccer in the evening. Karlie’s work ethic is incredible. On July 8th, she didn’t know the difference between a goal kick and a corner kick, but within a month earned the starting keeper position for FCHS.
- Other information: Karlie is addicted to ketchup. When she eats a chicken sandwhich, she uses 20+ packets of ketchup. She once made a suggested starting lineup by drawing peoples names on the back of a menu in ketchup.
Jordan Nichols of Franklin County
- Level/Sport: Varsity Girls Soccer
- Athlete’s year/position: Sophomore Forward & Defender
- Submitted by: Cynthia Adams
- Submitter’s position: Head Coach
- Athlete’s accomplishments: Jordan had two goals and one assist against Rising Sun to lead Franklin County to its first win of the season. She also played outside back against a tough East Central program and played nearly the entire game in 100-plus degree heat index, effectively shutting down the attack on her side of the field.
- Submitter’s personal comments: Jordan is an exceptional player and we expect great things from her this season. She was a varsity starter as a freshman and can play any field position making her extremely versatile. She is able to laugh at her own mistakes and always has a smile on her face.
- Other information: Jordan loves both dogs and M&Ms equally. Don’t ever ask her to choose.
