For Southwestern, the Rebel program will enter sectionals with their band of six grapplers. Three are seeded among the top four spots.
Southwestern garnered two top seeds in sophomore Austin Spray at 120 and Junior Corey O’Neal at 113. Senior Michael Humphrey at 126 is a fourth seed. The Rebels other seeded wrestler is senior Nick Spray, a fifth seed, at 138.
“Seedings mean nothing,” said first year Southwestern coach Brandon Brawner. “It’s tourney time and it’s all about who wants it the most.”
Wrestling will get underway at 9 am Saturday. Placement matches should start at 2 pm.
The coaches of both programs who provided this preview encourage everyone to come cheer on the Cubs and Rebels as they look to take advance several wrestlers to the Bloomington South Regional.
