East Central’s Cassie Laker- “The Lady Trojans played their final home match of the season against Harrison. Freshman lost a heartbreaker in three, JV won a thriller in three and varsity took the match in four on Senior Night.”

“It was a night full of emotions at every level. We honored our seven seniors who have given so much to this program and have set the standard at East Central, on the court and off. Academically, they average a 3.8 GPA. On the court, their record speaks for itself. These girls, along with their parents, have been a huge part of building a successful program at EC.”

“We started the match playing almost perfect volleyball, but it seemed as though the excitement from the night was wearing off and we began to crash. We were up 19-9 in the first set and let Harrison take it from us with way too many unforced errors. But the girls bounced back, regrouped and pulled out the win. Everyone played well. It was a solid team win.”

“Also, in the first half of the first set, senior Mackenzie Ewing hit her 1,000th career kill. It was one of 19 for the night and 417 for the season through the Harrison game.”

We thank coach Laker for the match report.
