Game one was an exciting back and forth affair. The lead changed hands five times to go along with 18 ties. After the visiting Trojans went up 5-1, Greensburg battled back within one, 5-4. Trailing by two at 11-9, the Lady Pirates went on a 4-0 run to take their first lead of at 13-11.  Neither team led by more than two points for the rest of the set.  The Pirates came from a point down to a point up, 24-23, with a chance to serve for the win.  However, EC’s Hannah Johnson put an attack away to tie the game at 24.  The teams traded points to a tie at 30 before the Trojans carded the last two points to claim game one, 32-30.

Greensburg had a 4-0 run in game two to go up 7-3 as Braelyn Evans recorded a pair of kills.  East Central later put together four straight points to even the game, 9-9, as the Trojans’ Brilan McCory recorded back to back aces.  Two kills by Anna West helped Greensburg to a 12-9 lead.  Kills by Alicia Rosemeyer and Mackenzie Ewing of EC squared the frame at 12-12.  A Sierra Johnson hammer briefly gave the Pirates a 13-12 edge but the set turned on a Trojan 6-0 run to go up 18-13. Bailey Grunkemeyer and Ewing each had kills in the string.  Sierra Johnson’s back-to-back swings go the Pirates within two, 21-19, but the visiting Trojans logged four of the final five points to win 25-20.

East Central got off to a quick 6-1  start in game three.  Ewing had a kill while Grunkemeyer served back to back aces.  The Trojan lead grew to 12-5 on an ace by McCory.  Greensburg responded and trimmed the deficit to 13-10. Braelyn Evans and Sierra Johnson combined for a block, Anna West had a solo block and Mary West added a kill for the Pirates in this run.  The Lady Bucks got as close as two on four different occasions.  The last came at 20-18.  East Central got a kill from Ewing and consecutive aces from Grunkemeyer to go back up by five, 23-18.   Greensburg, down 24-19, staved off three match points to close within one, 24-23.  But the night ended on a McCory kill to give the Trojans the 25-23 game three win and a 3-0 match victory.
