After loading the bases but not scoring in the bottom of the first, Franklin County got the scoring under way in the bottom of the 2nd inning.  Autumn McDaniel singled to lead off the inning.  Abby Orschell sacrificed her to 2nd and beat the throw to first for a single.  Both runners moved to scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Maggie Wendell.

Madison Brenner grounded to shortstop Abby Person who threw home to try to cut down McDaniel.  The throw was not in time as McDaniel scored to make it 1 – 0 Wildcats.  Brooke Otto was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Kamryn McCool.  She singled to right field to score Brenner and Otto to make it 3 – 0 Franklin County.

Lawrenceburg threatened in the top of the 3rd inning.  Katie McCord work a 1-out walk.  One out later, leadoff batter Claire Nagel reached on an error before Bailey Moses infield single loaded the bases with 2 outs.  McCool got a ground ball to first base to end the inning and leave the bases loaded.

Franklin County added a run in the bottom of the 4th.  Maggie Wendell reached on an error to lead off the inning.  She moved to 2nd on a groundout.  Brooke Otto singled to move Wendell to 3rd and then got into a rundown which allowed pinch runner Izzy Hoff to score to make it a 4 – 0 Wildcat lead.

After the 3rd inning, Kendall McCool set down 8 in a row for Franklin County.  With one out in the top of the 7th, Brooklyn Sturgill reached first safely on a dropped 3rd strike.  Bailee Johnson followed with a double to center field to score Sturgill to make it a 4 – 1 game.
