Both pitchers threw a complete game. Kooper Vertz of South Dearborn struck out six, walked two and allowed just three hits in the win. Five SD errors led to three unearned runs. Paige McQueen of East Central fanned seven, walked two and gave up nine hits in the loss.

Tournament play starts Monday for East Central at 4A Sectional 14 at Columbus North. The Trojans will take on Columbus East around 7:30 pm. Bloomington South and Shelbyville will play first at 6 pm.
South Dearborn opens its second season against Rushville on Tuesday at 3A Sectional 29 in Batesville. Game time is 5 pm. Franklin County and Greensburg will follow in game two.
