(BKT/E-Tue) 5th grade Tigers win Madison Grade School Tourney

Madison- The Lawrenceburg Lady Tiger fifth graders won their division of the Madison Grade School Tournament held in Madison.

Lawrenceburg defeated Milan 24-4, Trimble County (KY) 29-11 and East Central 16-11 to reach the championship game against South Dearborn.

In the final game, South Dearborn jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and remained in front until Lawrenceburg tied the game at 10-10 late in the third quarter.

The Lady Tiger full court press produced back-to-back steals and layups to give Lawrenceburg a 14-10 advantage early in the fourth. The Burg outscored a tough SD squad 6-4 from there to win 20-14 and take the championship.

Lawrenceburg team members include: Zoe Cothran, Logan Cox, Jenna Farmer, Sheridan Houze, Julia Ireland, Alyssa McLanahan, Mace Radenheimer, Emily Rohe, Maggie Rose and Makenna White. The coaches are Butch Sandford and Zane White.
