Rising Sun- In the seventh grade championship game of the Dearborn County Invitational Tournament, Switzerland County defeated Sunman-Dearborn Black 24-18. The game was held Thursday at Rising Sun.
The Pacers Whitley Schirmer proved to be tough to stop as she led all scorers with 14 points which included a three pointer. Joining her in the Switz scorebook were: Veronika Perry 4, Taylar Jordan 4, Brooke Minch 1 and MaKayli Scudder 1. Mallory Phagan, Alysa Parr, Mackenzie Covington and Bailey Minch also contributed to the win.
Ariel Deater topped the S-D ledger with eight points. Corryn Caudy and Peyton Yocum both scored three while two points apiece were carded by Robyn Shumate and Sarah Hornbach. Defensive and rebounding help were provided by Audrey Vogelgesang, Hannah Lynch and Brittney Lavin.
Coach Matt Stenger’s Trojan team finishes the season at 6-5 and all of the parents wish to thank coach Stenger and the girls for a great season.
